Arun P. Venkat, M.D. Joins The Dermatology Center's Medical Staff

Johns Hopkins and Duke-Trained Doctor Joins Well Known Bethesda
Dermatology Clinic

Bethesda, MD – August 5, 2010: Dr. Arun Venkat, MD, who recently completed a
Fellowship in Dermatopathology at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, joined Bethesda’s
Dermatology Center, announced Dr. Roberta F. Palestine, Medical
Director. Dr. Venkat joins seven other specialists at the 28 year-old practice which
treats everything from acne to skin cancers, as well as providing leading edge cosmetic
procedures.

Dr. Venkat completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas in Austin and
earned his medical degree from Duke University Medical School. He accompanied the
medical degree by successfully pursuing a MBA from Duke University. He completed his
residency at the University of Iowa prior to moving to Baltimore for his Johns Hopkins
Fellowship.

“We are pleased Dr. Venkat will be joining our practice. We are always looking to
improve procedures for our patients and his expertise in dermatopathology brings us to
the next level of comprehensive service,” said Dr. Palestine.

Only about 25% of practices nationwide offer an in-house Dermatopathology lab which
allows Dr. Venkat and our six other Dermatologists to examine a patient as well as
directly study any samples collected using microscopic slide technology. This method
applies to common skin rashes as well as cancerous skin problems. “This provides more
accurate results and a simple in-house advantage for our patients and our practice,” Dr.
Venkat reported.

Roberta F. Palestine, M.D. is the founder and medical director of The Dermatology Center and has been in practice since 1982. Dermatology & Clinical
