Botox | Dysport | Dermal Fillers
Non-surgical facial rejuvenation is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that restores a more youthful appearance with little to no down time. The Dermatology Center is pleased to offer Botox®, Dysport® and the industry’s leading dermal fillers for non-surgical facial rejuvenation. All of our products are FDA approved and do not require an allergy test.
Botox cosmetic is an injected prescription medicine that is used to reduce facial lines and wrinkles, and to give clients a more refreshed appearance. Botox injections are quick and minimally invasive procedures consisting of a few injections for relaxing lines and wrinkles. Common treatment areas include between brows, forehead lines, crows feet and around the mouth. No anesthesia is required. Although you may see a marked improvement, a treatment with Botox cosmetic does not make you look like you have “had work done”. You can expect to see results within three to 10 days after your treatment, and the visible results have been shown to last up to four months.
Dysport is a prescription injection proven to help smooth the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Untreated muscles still work normally, so you can continue to express feelings naturally. It’s the lines that disappear, not your expressions.
Juvederm® is a dermal filler that helps to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or “parentheses.” This is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. The results last up to a year or more.
Juvederm Voluma™ XC
Juvederm Voluma™ XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. It gives you a subtle lift and addresses moderate sagging of skin due to loss of volume, helping to restore contour and a more youthful profile, for up to two years.
Radiesse is a leading dermal filler injected below the surface of the skin to fill in unwanted lines and wrinkles. This product is made of very small, smooth microspheres, which are suspended in a water-based gel. Over time, your body absorbs the gel while collagen has started to grow and infiltrate the area, replacing the gel with your own, natural tissue, and eventually being naturally absorbed into your body. Radiesse dermal fillers typically last a year or more.
Sculptra is a synthetic injectable material known as “poly-L-lactic acid.” Poly-L-lactic acid has been widely used for many years in dissolvable stitches, and soft tissue implants. Its composition is especially well suited to increasing volume where needed.
Belotero Balance injectable gel is a prescription injection that is used to temporarily smooth out and fill in moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds as well as other moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and wrinkles around your lips and mouth.
With over 30 million treatments worldwide and counting,1 the Restylane line of hyaluronic acid fillers provides natural-looking results by smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds
Restylane Perlane gently fills deeper wrinkles and folds, such as the nose-to-mouth lines and frown lines, resulting in a softer facial expression.
HOW DO YOU SELECT A DERMAL FILLER?
Dozens of filling agents, called Dermal Fillers, are currently available. We have incorporated the ones we feel most confident about into our cosmetic practice. Your physician will evaluate your needs, and the two of you will discuss the options to determine which filler is best suited to address a particular skin imperfection.
Fillers are sometimes categorized by duration – temporary, semi-permanent, or permanent. We have tested everything that we carry, and feel confident in providing you the best and safest quality in all things we offer. At The Dermatology Center, we are not early adopters of new treatments that come on the market; instead for your safety, we prefer to wait until they have been proven.
IS THERE ANY DOWN TIME ASSOCIATED WITH DERMAL FILLERS?
Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, possible bruising, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. After a lip treatment, the lips may become swollen. This can persist for a few days. If the discomfort continues, please contact your physician. There is no limitation on activity following treatment, however we recommend avoiding upside positions (such as in yoga), or any facial rubbing (such as facials) immediately after. Due to the potential of swelling and bruising, it is recommended to schedule filler injections at least one week prior to any special occasion.
